The LSETF Mentorship Programme is aimed at developing a vibrant, effective and sustainable business mentorship network that supports MSMEs, helping them thrive and ultimately grow the economy of Lagos State.

In the business world, there is so much discussion on the crucial role played by professional and vocational skills in shaping an entrepreneur. However, we often forget the significant ‘human element’ – the ‘X factor’ that a mentor can add to the equation. This mentorship program will provide entrepreneurs the opportunity to build a relationship with their peers and others who can help shorten the learning curve by providing valuable external perspective to the business. It allows access to sector or discipline expertise which may be lacking within the business.

The key modules to be covered for this programme include Marketing, Product Development, Risk Management, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Strategy, Cash-flow Management, Financial Management, Funding, Tax Management, Legal, HR Management, Corporate Governance and Succession Planning.

MEET OUR MENTORS

I am the Founding Partner of Crenet & Co-Founder of QuikLinx Marketing Solutions, a firm which established the “Ad Letter Industry” in Nigeria which largely and evidently helped with the growth of over 300 budding businesses in Lagos alone. I am also the publisher of a daily online newspaper called "The Social Divergence" and a certified alumni of The Social Media Success Summit 2011. I have been featured on PRNewser as an expert giving my opinions on the JCPenney Logo Re-design.

A Strategy and Transformation professional with over 15 years’ experience within the Financial Services and Consumer Markets Industry and a proven track record in assisting leading organisations achieve their strategic objectives. Extensive exposure to global strategies and business practices across various industries. Key areas of expertise include Corporate Planning, Strategy Implementation, Start-up Advisory, Business and Tech-enabled Transformation, Process Re-engineering, Process Automation, Technology Implementation, Business Development, Customer Growth, Performance Management, Program Management and Change Management

Experienced Lead Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the management consulting industry. Skilled in Budgeting, Entrepreneurship, Team Building, Management, and Time Management. Strong consulting professional with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) focused in Economics from University of Maiduguri.

Mentors Requirements

Professional Qualification

– Minimum of 7 years of running a business enterprise or must be employed by a reputable company with at least 7 years management experience.
– C-Level position in a reputable Company is also welcome.

Other considerations for selecting appropriate mentors include;

– Be willing to mentor pro-bono
– Must believe in the LSETF values (TRAcE III - Transparency, Results-oriented, Accountability, Enabling, Integrity, Inclusive, Innovation).
– Be willing to undergo the mentors workshop.
– Be available to have sessions with their mentees for at least one year (12 months).
– Be approachable and accessible.
