On September 5th, 2023, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund announced a strategic partnership with Ingryd Academy to train mid-level tech professionals and strengthen the tech talent pipeline. This initiative aims to tackle the tech talent shortage in Africa, with a goal of training 4,000 tech professionals annually. Following a meticulous screening process comprising assessment tests, over eight hundred talents were selected to receive a scholarship granting them access to intensive training in their chosen courses—Cybersecurity, Data Science, Linux and Java — over the next three months. The induction ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative journey for the selected candidates. Over the next three months, these individuals will undergo rigorous training and mentorship, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the ever-evolving tech industry. Training for the inaugural cohort is scheduled to commence on October 16, 2023 both virtually and at Ingryd Academy’s Lagos Hub.
